این ماژول دارای سنسور MQ-4 که یک آشکار ساز بسیار پایدار است می باشد که می تواند هر غلظت گاز متان موجود در هوا را تشخیص دهد. در این ماژول از یک پتانسومتر جهت تنظیم حساسیت سنسور استفاده شده است.

MQ-4 Methane Gas Sensor is a sensor of that class which interacts with gasses in the atmosphere. MQ-4 is very easy to interface having a long life which makes is power efficient too. MQ-4 is a very highly stable detector that can detect any concentration of methane gas (CH4) present in the air. It also has a built-in potentiometer which is used to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor.
MQ-4 has two options for output, Analog Output, and Digital Output so it cant interface easily. MQ-4 has a very fast response so the system can detect the methane gas as soon as it exposes in the atmosphere.
